'The Lion King' had a few different titles, including ‘The King of the Kalahair’ and ‘King of the Jungle.’ It was also dubbed ‘Bamblet’ by one of the screenwriters. When the idea for the movie was presented to Irene Mecchi, it was described to her as ‘Hamlet’ in Africa with a bit of ‘Bambi’ thrown in. So Mecchi called it ‘Bamblet.’
